The blue ones certainly attract butterflies, which is my reason for having them on the plot. It would be good to plant some in her memory.VPhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02732971362066784175noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4793702278130036246.post-9817742538335423242016-04-15T08:27:15.374+01:002016-04-15T08:27:15.374+01:00I used to have a lavender hedge on the allotment a...I used to have a lavender hedge on the allotment and I had the same problem... coupled with the fact it was on the wettest part of the allotment. You'd think knowing it's a Mediterranean plant would mean I'd get its planting right first time, but not me!VPhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02732971362066784175noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4793702278130036246.post-66265472032081630112016-04-15T08:25:50.903+01:002016-04-15T08:25:50.903+01:00Sadly I'm allergic to tea Joanna, otherwise I&...Sadly I'm allergic to tea Joanna, otherwise I'd add that to the list of lavender goodies for me to try. I like the deep purple as well and think angustifolia varieties have the best scent but it is L. x intermedia Vera I grow. I seem to remember reading that in a trial bees visited Vera more than other varieties. She lives in a pot quite happily and never seems to go in a huff if she doesn't get the best of attention.Sheenahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09472551339360410824noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4793702278130036246.post-20966185664145815812016-04-14T23:06:23.292+01:002016-04-14T23:06:23.292+01:00I prefer the dark purple too.
