I've got a thick patch of hedge under the elderberries where the blackbirds are nesting at present. I'd love to have more birds nesting here, but there are so many cats in the neighbourhood I'm not sure it's a good idea. Yesterday I found a half eaten slow worm on the path in front of the house.

HelleAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4793702278130036246.post-33821300111529981712015-05-10T06:02:06.112+01:002015-05-10T06:02:06.112+01:00How lovely to find that nest! I have song thrushes in my garden but I don' t know where they are nesting. I do know where their dining room is though. I have found a pile of broken snail shells next to a stone. Does the mistle thrush have the same beautiful song as the song thrush?chlorishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02037607962980090244noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4793702278130036246.post-76140857353172164982015-05-09T11:20:27.128+01:002015-05-09T11:20:27.128+01:00P.S. Thankfully, two years on, the leaves are back which means so are the blue tits and robins. Birdsong once more! It must have been quite thrilling to find the bird's nest - lucky that you didn't have hedge trimmers in hand! xCarohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11317388242574705433noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4793702278130036246.post-62270893638053697102015-05-07T12:15:59.659+01:002015-05-07T12:15:59.659+01:00Good news all round, plants and new chicks :)Good news all round, plants and new chicks :)Mark and Gazhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09427245730390252976noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4793702278130036246.post-49066878514102384852015-05-07T09:40:23.211+01:002015-05-07T09:40:23.211+01:00Good news all round, with new growth and new chick...Good news all round, with new growth and new chicks.
