The pots allows me to keep my options open and spend the time getting the soil right for them and minimise the risk of black spot disease.

Nell Jean - I have a little bit of pink too in the shape of my Viburnum x bodnantense 'Dawn'.

Petoskystone - she was indeed. I've found out since her name was Jan.

Janet - it was the extra large more upright flowers, plus the attractive foliage which really sold this plant to me :)

MMD - last month it was Galanthophiles now the Hellebore fans are showing themselves. I dipped my toes into both with this purchase as I also got two free snowdrops!

PG - my problem with this Forsythia is that it usually blooms later when the sun's stronger and that tends to make it look rather garish. Perhaps you've found the right one :) I also agree re the cold and the large amount of flowers this year.VPhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02732971362066784175noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4793702278130036246.post-22035695485333760182011-03-15T19:18:04.163+00:002011-03-15T19:18:04.163+00:00I like Forsythia even if I am in the minority!! It is funny though that your Forsythia is flowering its socks off maybe it needed that prolonged period of cold to really get the bloomsHelen/patientgardenerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02164036792673009326noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4793702278130036246.post-37149675981957166032011-03-15T16:42:47.430+00:002011-03-15T16:42:47.430+00:00It's a survival mechanism, the Forsythia got w...It's a survival mechanism, the Forsythia got wind of your plans.
