I've just visited Thredspider's new home in Herefordshire and found she's planted it in her new garden too :)VPhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02732971362066784175noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4793702278130036246.post-11254254346680146252014-09-20T10:41:50.918+01:002014-09-20T10:41:50.918+01:00Hi Rose - 'Wendy's wish' looks a lot l...Hi Rose - 'Wendy's wish' looks a lot like Salvia 'Amistad' and would look great in my garden. I'm so envious of you having hummingbirds in your garden - these flowers are adapted perfectly for them. Have you seen John Whittlesey's book on Salvias? 'Wendy's wish' is listed in there. It's a great book - my copy was in my goody bag from Timber Press at the Fling, lucky me :)VPhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02732971362066784175noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4793702278130036246.post-54735615378822877942014-09-16T22:06:12.037+01:002014-09-16T22:06:12.037+01:00PS - I should tell you that I did get Amistad too,...PS - I should tell you that I did get Amistad too, earlier this year 3 of them in fact! :)
K
xxKaren Hallhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12685625739001044636noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4793702278130036246.post-40160780296212545722014-09-16T22:05:10.837+01:002014-09-16T22:05:10.837+01:00Looking good VP ... It's every bit as beguiling in the flesh as it seemed in photos :)Annahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10794392333038962798noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4793702278130036246.post-19432036037162167192014-09-15T13:51:17.703+01:002014-09-15T13:51:17.703+01:00I love this plant! I have a 'Wendy's Wish,' which is a hybrid salvia with a similar color, but the blooms of this 'Hadspen' look fuller than Wendy. I plant mine, knowing it's an annual, but it's worth it because the hummingbirds love Wendy! I'm sure they would go crazy over 'Hadspen,' too.Rosehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01384059342847120951noreply@blogger.com
