It has been a very long time since I have been to a choral concert! I missed the big Messiah sing along this year. I just realized that I haven't heard enough Christmas music this season! I am serious! It's not playing on the radio and since I am avoiding malls...there is none ringing in my ear. It is obvious that I must go to a concert soon!

GailGailhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16194325535496408116noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4793702278130036246.post-55107670880026238592008-12-17T15:40:00.000+00:002008-12-17T15:40:00.000+00:00My old choir director was big on singing the words...My old choir director was big on singing the words to 1 hymn to the tune of another. That is so much more interesting than the same old, same old. As in the community where Rose grew up, the parish I attend was founded by German immigrants, many of whose descendents still live here, so we performed Stille Nacht entirely in German by request one year. "California Dreaming" seems like an interesting choice for a Christmas concert, but I love the choice for the final song--if only everyone would remember this message of peace the rest of the year.

I grew up in a community of all German descent, so "Stille Nacht" was always part of our Christmas carol tradition.Rosehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01384059342847120951noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4793702278130036246.post-36396626859591010142008-12-17T14:08:00.000+00:002008-12-17T14:08:00.000+00:00Hi VP, a hundred voices raised together is a magni...Hi VP, a hundred voices raised together is a magnificent thing.
