Press, PR and Clips

Press - What's been said about Veg Plotting:

Every blog deserves a little bit of bling. Here's a little something I picked up at the Garden Media Guild Awards in December 2009 - and again in 2012 & 2013!

Veg Plotting has had some great mentions in key publications including BBC Countryfile, BBC Gardeners' World, Grow Your Own (twice) and The Independent on Sunday. Peer voted honours include the Horticultural Channel Awards and the Blotanicals

and... drumroll please...

PR - working with companies directly or their representatives

There are a number of ways in which I work with companies; these are always disclosed to my readers. Contact me on vegplotting
at gmail dot com if you have an opportunity which may be of interest regarding:
  • Advertising
  • Reviews
  • Competitions, Giveaways and Offers
  • Sponsored Posts
  • Content provision for you - see the Clips section below
  • Consultancy re blogs and social media
Advertising: I carry a small number of advertisements on my right hand sidebar for companies which fit well with my blog's content. See my Advertise Page for more information.

Reviews: companies I've worked with include Bosch, Dobbies Garden Centres, Fiskars, Hozelock and Timber Press. I occasionally work with FuelMyBlog. My reviews are warts and all and I believe an honest dialogue about products and services I need or use is much more important than acquiring freebies. My Books, Tools and Testing labels show all of my reviews thus far. Note: from December 2011, product links in my reviews will be confined to the post's disclosure notice. They also have the no follow attribute.

Competitions, Giveaways and Offers: Like my product reviews these are a supplement to my regular content and therefore limited in number. Companies and organisations I've worked with include Argos, Lands' End, Posh Cloche and the RHS. There's a small charge to cover the time spent administrating competitions and giveaways, or I'm open to offers. Also note that any product link included uses the no follow attribute. See my Competitions and Offers Page for current information.

Sponsored Posts: This involves sponsorship of my original content where it fits with a company's product or service and with a post I'm planning to write. Advertorial or supplied content is not accepted. My Pottering With Pots post is an example of how this worked with Readers' DigestNote: this option is  limited in number to retain a good balance between paid and non-paid content. Any website linkage is confined to the post's disclosure notice so readers are clear about its nature. In order to ensure the blog's high PR is retained and to comply with Google's terms of service, all links of this nature are no follow.

In addition to the Press accolades mentioned above, Veg Plotting now has the nod from the Dead Dinosaur PR company in their list of the UK's top 20 Gardening blogs :)

Clips - VP is available for hire

I write general features for Wiltshire magazine and occasionally in the gardening pages of The Guardian. I blog for the greenhouse company Gabriel Ash and also Smiths News, a local company where I'm helping them to raise lots of money for charity. I tweet and manage Facebook on behalf of the Garden Media Guild. I'm a regular contributor to The Guardian Gardening Blog and I've also written for the BBC's gardening blog.

I'm available for other freelance and social media opportunities. See my list of Published Articles to Date for a full list of examples in addition to what you can see on this blog. Drop me an email with your requirements to vegplotting at gmail dot com
