Things in Unusual Places #9: Diarmuid Gavin

I know, I know: this campaign's been run by Morrison's for the past two years already, so I should be used to a lifesize Diarmuid Gavin cutout popping up at my local supermarket at this time of the year by now. Thing is, I'm not used to it at all. Especially seeing as the telly's showing him shivering his socks off in the Arctic at the moment...

  1. It looks very realistic! Are you sure it's a cut-out?!

  2. You know, it's really weird you should say that, but I find the full-size (larger than full-size?) Alan Titchmarsh at my local B&Q quite creepy. I actually like Mr T in person, so I'm not sure what it is about the cutout. It seems to be following me with its eyes.

  3. I had trouble deciding he was real or a cutout! ~A long time ago, when HGTV actually had garden shows his show was on Sunday mornings. What an interesting designer~I always wanted to visit a garden he created! gail

  4. It seems a good campaign too - worthwhile.

  5. New Shoot - I had to look twice but yes it is! Last year they had his picture on all the trolley shelters in the car park but sadly I was too late with my camera

Victoria - I'm with you re AT - in fact I showed him at B&Q for my last How Advertising Works in Chippenham

Gail - his biography's out soon

Hermes - yes it is indeed
